Memories - How Will You Be Remembered?

Everyone would like to be remembered fondly. Here we provide some suggestions and links to help you plan your funeral or memorial and frame how others will remember you. The Inspired Funeral and Lantern each provide extensive death planning and funeral resources. The Inspired Funeral’s resources are free. Lantern is a a Public Benefit Corporation and their full services require an annual subscription, but they provide a lot of free information as well.

Those wanting to leave a lasting legacy should consider organ or full body donation. You can specify either in an advance directive and most driver’s licenses include an organ donation option. Be aware that organ donation is only feasible for those dying in a hospital (time is of the essence). Donating your body to science is an option for those dying at home but is best planned in advance. You can select the medical institution to which you want to donate your body, and many institutions will cover donation related expenses including transportation, cremation and return of remains. MEDCURE offers detailed information and assistance for those considering body donation.
